Bio

Suzanne Mustacich is an author, screenwriter, and producer with a passion for telling dramatic, character-driven stories that resonate across platforms and formats—whether in books, on screen, on stage, or in podcasts.

Her early career was rooted in television, where she wrote and produced a prime-time magazine show, documentaries, talk shows, and unscripted series for major networks and syndication. Alongside producing, she wrote original screenplays for films—commissioned by production companies for the international market—gaining hands-on experience with the craft, pacing, and structure of cinematic storytelling.

As an author, she wrote the award-winning, narrative nonfiction book Thirsty Dragon: China’s Lust for Bordeaux and the Threat to the World’s Best Wines.

Now she has returned to fiction—working on both new screenplays and a novel that reflects her love of layered characters, slow-burning suspense, and a sense of place.

Recently she has co-created The Wine Podcast in collaboration with Jane Anson, produced in partnership with Wine Voices by Wine-Searcher.com—a series that brings together interviews, storytelling, and expert voices from the wine world.

She holds a BA from Yale University in Economics and Political Science, she studied screenwriting at USC, earned the DUAD enology diploma from the University of Bordeaux and returned to her passion for books with an MA in Creative Writing (Crime Fiction) at the University of East Anglia.

She also has a speciality in wine. She was a Contributing Editor at Wine Spectator for a decade.

She lives in Bordeaux with her family.
